July 2009 Meeting Minutes

Lunar Rendezbrew!!!!

Lunar Rendezbrew 16 looks good.  Weather is favorable and no scrubs are expected.  All systems GO!

Saturday & Sunday entries were collected and sorted and Bo Dukes.  There are currently 403 entries (despite UPS losing a number of boxes from the North Texas Homebrewers)

Reminder that tickets are $20 online and $30 at the door.  Translation – BUY THEM ONLINE!

Sponsors – we need them.  If you know someone… or know someone who knows someone approach them to be a sponsor for Lunar Rendezbrew.  The sponsorship levels can be found here.

Judging

Friday 7/17 – a few brave souls are needed to help Bo Duke organize and load up for judging.  7:00 at his place.

Saturday 7/18 at the Seabrook Community Center at 9:00 AM.  We need judges and stewards.  Bring something to eat for breakfast… after that expect some good Pompodoro’s for lunch.  Beer will be provided by the most excellent Mongoose.  Following the first round of judging the survivors will be treated with a tour of the Raellian Rum Distillery.

Shirts were displayed and will be available for sale on Saturday at 1st round judging.

Visitors

Bunny is visiting from San Antonio

Paul Kohl– an “old time” member

Warren Pattison… no word on a nickname for him yet.  Although he does look vaguely familiar

Jack and Harry from Faust Distributing came bearing beer.  We like them.  We like them a lot.  Check out the website of Deschutes Brewery.

Other Competitions

Medals were given for beers entered into the Celtic Fest in Arlington.  Congratulations to our very own Mad Baker and Stumpy.  Suffice it to say they both won a crap load of very cool looking awards.

Alamo City Cerveza Fest - Entries are due by 8/8 (does that date ring a bell).  You can drop your entries off to B&S Brewer's Guild and Bunny will graciously ferry them over to San Antonio (no UPS breakage!!)  Thanks to B&S and Bunny!
